I have been in many groups; some of them were good and others not so well. The teams that were the hardest to adjourn from were the ones that had unfinished business. Though I find it is easy to leave the teams that have not established trust and respect with all of the members. It is also very hard for me to leave teams or groups that I have established a bond with. It will be very hard for me to adjourn from the team of colleagues that I have learned with and from throughout my master’s degree program. I truly hope that we can continue to learn and help each other throughout our careers. I feel that it will be hard because we have grown together and have learned so much from each other. It is essential that we experience the adjourning stage because it provides closer. With closer we can celebrate our success, explore thing that we need to continue to work on or build on for future situations.
Luci,
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting point to make - the groups that had unfinished business are the hardest to adjourn from. I hadn't thought about that. I was only thinking of the emotional connections made through groups where we have really bonded and worked together as a team. But, yes, it would be very hard to feel like there was closure if you did not have all the loose ends tied. Good insight.
You are so right Luci!
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to leave a group with unfinished business but I think it is because of the human nature of our emotions. However, like you I will miss the friends I have made at Walden and wish you the best in your future endeavors!
Hi Luci,
ReplyDeleteI like the expression Dr. Wolfe uses to describe a team – “puzzle” (Laureate Education, 2011). Where every team member is a piece of the puzzle that needs to fit in together with the other pieces. You are right, unless the pieces fit together and there is cohesion among the members there will not be a positive supportive climate wherein members can take pride and feel satisfied and confident. We as a group have been able to play our roles well, supporting and respecting each other and fitting in our pieces into the big puzzle. Thank you for your support and I look forward to your continued support in the weeks ahead.

Luci,
ReplyDeleteWell said!! Establishing great rapport with a group of professionals is so important, and I agree with you it makes it hard to leave them.
I know that we will stay in touch after this class! You have and will continue to inspire me!!
